Teaching Physics in a Virtual Environment: Pilot Meeting

NJAAPT has decided to put together a series of online sharing workshops to help our physics teachers be more effective in a virtual teaching environment.   This first meeting is a pilot meeting to layout the issues that the teachers have been experiencing and to develop a framework for future sharing sessions. 

We are looking for our members to participate with us to set the direction for future meetings, each focusing on a specific issue.  All of the sessions will be recorded and made available to those members unable to attend.

In our initital brainstorming we came up with these categories, but we expect that this can change and be expanded:

• How to teach labs in a virtual environment
• How to get better class engagement
• How to produce meanginful assessments and deal with issues of cheating
• Best practices in providing video lessons
• Finding useful resources and keeping current as new resources become available

This first meeting will be a chance for our members to help us determine the structure for these meetings and plans for the upcoming meetings.

The event is free for all NJAAPT members.
